Night Sweats are a known symptom of anxiety, bacterial infections, pregnancy, menopause, and hyperthyroidism. The unexpected cause could also be cancer. However, it will not be the only sign of cancer. When it comes to cancer, night sweats become more excessive and sporadic. Acupuncture can prevent cancer, since cancer is caused by blood stasis in the body.

Blood circulation

Therefore, the focus of wellness treatments within acupuncture visits include the reinforcements of qi and blood. A proper circulation of qi and blood prevents the accumulation of cancer cells within the body. If you find that you are experiencing excessive sweating, contact an acupuncturist, or acupuncture is my life, as well as your doctor to address the matter.

Cancer Types

Liver tumors feed off of the body’s blood sugar. The lack of blood sugar in circulation causes your body to produce adrenaline which produces sweat. Carcinoid tumors secrete serotonin which produces sweat at night.

Lymphoma can cause a fever because its cells produce types of chemicals that causes the body’s temperature to rise. In turn, this increase in body heat results in night sweats. In Leukemia, the number of immune cells decreases. This weak immune system increases the likelihood of infections. The body works twice as hard to fight these infections and produces fevers and therefore, night sweats.

Ultimately, profuse night sweating every night can be a sign of cancer. Though it is not necessarily the only cause of night sweats, it is one that should not be taken lightly. In acupuncture, a symptom that gets worse at night is usually related to blood. As an acupuncturist, I would take the appropriate steps in advising you of your alternatives.
